The short version

Your quit ledger lives on your phone. No account, no sign-in, no cloud copy of your data. Nothing you type into the app ever reaches us, because there is no us to reach: the app has no server that takes anything from you. A few quiet things do leave the device, and each one is listed below, with its off switch.

What stays on your phone

Everything you write and everything the app computes from it: your quit date and product setup, your log entries and slips, journal pages and notes, lesson answers and if-then plans, the money-saved math, badges and streak history. It is stored locally in the app's private storage on your device. Deleting the app deletes all of it. There is no other copy, so back ups are up to you.

What leaves your phone, and when

1. Anonymous usage data (you can turn this off)

The app shares a small stream of anonymous usage events with Firebase Analytics (Google) to learn which features are used: screen names, feature taps, counts, durations, and category labels like the general trigger of a logged craving.

It never includes what you type: not journal text, not slip notes, not your reason for quitting, not prices or ages or any number you enter, and nothing that identifies you. Analytics is on by default and you can turn it off any time in Settings → Data → "Share anonymous usage data". When off, the data stream is disabled at the source and nothing is even built.

2. Content updates (you can turn this off)

If "Content updates" is enabled in Settings, the app checks a static file on this website (lastsmoke.app, served through Cloudflare) now and then to see if new lessons are available. The request is a plain download of a public file: it carries no identifier, no usage data, and nothing about you or your quit beyond your device's IP address and the timing, which is part of any internet request. Turning "Content updates" off stops these checks entirely; the app works fully offline forever either way.

3. Ads on the free path

If you keep going free after the trial, the app shows ads served by Google (AdMob). Ad serving uses standard Android advertising identifiers and device information, governed by Google's privacy policy; we do not send your journal, your stats, or anything you type to advertisers. Ads never appear in SOS, the breathing exercises, or the game, and they disappear entirely with the one-time unlock.

4. Payments

The one-time unlock is processed entirely by Google Play Billing. We never see your payment details. Google handles the transaction under its own policies.

5. Quitlines (you start these)

If you enable the quitline feature and tap a call button, your phone's dialer places the call to that helpline. That call is yours; the app sends nothing and dials nothing on its own.
